Germany / online

This year’s OOP takes place from 31 January to 4 February 2022, parallelly to the Code Days 2022. The OOP is one of the most important conferences on software architecture in the German-speaking world and will be an exclusively digital event this year. We at ZEISS Digital Innovation are once again represented in the programme with several contributions:

On Tuesday (Jan 31, 2:00 pm) Maria Petzold and a colleague will explain in their talk "Human Testing: Why we put people first!", which prejudices against manual testing they have encountered in numerous projects. Furthermore, they will present possible approaches why manual testing should be regarded as ”Human Testing” in the future.

At the same day (Tuesday, Jan 31, 4:15 pm) Hendrik Lösch shows in his talk "18 Months and No End in Sight - Restructuring a Large Industrial Application", based on a real project from the semiconductor industry, the challenges that lurk in the restructuring of a monolith.

Subsequently, in the talk "TA tool ordered in the catalogue - finding the test automation tool despite flexible requirements" (Tuesday, Jan 31, 5:45 pm) Kay Grebenstein and Mylaine Pemedjeu Mougoue present the results of a scientific work to create a criteria catalogue which is needed to select the appropriate test automation tools for our projects.

On the next conference day (Wed, Feb 1, 09:00 am), Manuel Mauky and Alina Stein will share their experiences in developing an internal web components library that implements a technology-neutral UI style guide in their presentation “Internal Component Libraries: A Field Report". Such a library should enable the reuse of complex UI components.

After this, the talk "Interoperable and secure cloud solutions for medical technology with Azure for healthcare" will take place (Wed, Feb 1, 11:00 am). In this talk, Leo Lindhorst will explain which current technologies for medical cloud solutions already exist, which solutions Microsoft Azure offers for applications in the healthcare sector and which challenges arise for medical cloud applications.

Our last talk at this year’s OOP will be held be Sladjan Matic. In his presentation "Delivery Models in the Cloud – Portable, Multicloud and Hybrid solutions" (Thu, Jan 3, 10:00 am) he will explore for which use cases multicloud solutions are suitable for and how to choose between SaaS, PaaS and IaaS platforms. Also, an IIoT sample architecture will be presented using PaaS, FaaS and Azure Arc.

We are looking forward to three interesting conference days combined with exiting networking at the OOP 2022.
